These beautiful textural
color studies appear to be devoid of concrete subject but
are, in fact, aerial views of a distant (albeit imaginary)
solar system. In the painting, "Colloidal Delta," the
muted colors are blended in some areas and not in others.
A dense profusion of textured color describes "Aerial
View of Jungle Planet," the third planet in this solar
system. "Jungle Tectonics," describing the plate
tectonics of Jungle Planet features a complex geometry with
contrasting textures, from coarse and grainy to shiny and
metallic. The landforms appear larger on "An Aerial
View of Planet Purple" because the viewer is closer
to the surface of this planet. The fifth planet and seventh
painting in this series "Copper Planet," gave rise
to a whole new style, occasioned when the manager of collections
at a major New York City museum asked, "What is happening
on the surface of this planet?" Thus CopperWorld was
born.
